Ad Hoc Commentary – Is Comet Siding Spring going to be a bad omen?
“…Comets have inspired dread, fear, and awe in many different cultures and societies around the world and throughout time. They have been branded with such titles as “the Harbinger of Doom” and “the Menace of the Universe.”…”
When comet ISON made perihelion on Nov 28, 2013 no one would have thought it was an omen for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. However, months later, it became clear to many that comet ISON was the harbinger of the Ebola pestilence:
“…About eight months ago, the toddler, whom researchers believe may have been Patient Zero, suffered fever, black stool and vomiting. Just four days after showing the painful symptoms, the child died on December 6, 2013, according to a report published in The New England Journal of Medicine…”
Since Ebola’s incubation period is 2 to 21 days before the patient becomes symptomatic, one could say that comet ISON’s timing was impeccable.
Next month, comet C/2013 A1, also known as comet Siding Spring will make its closest approach to Mars ~82,000 miles (132,000 kilometers):
We remember that we are in the midst of our Jewish tetrad: https://tradehaven.net/market/ad-hoc-commentary-four-blood-moons-aligned-with-jewish-holidays/
The next Jewish blood moon will be on Oct 8, 2014. It is no surprise at all that the astronomers are terribly excited given all the spectacular sights in the sky. However, yours truly is a little concerned. What if ancient superstition is not just old wives tales? Since we are at the topic of superstition, the optimist but superstitious person today would likely say: “It is very good that comet Siding Spring makes closest approach to Mars, the God of War, on Oct 19, 2014 and not Oct 18, 2014. That is because Oct 18, 2014 is 666 days after the Mayan world ended on Dec 21, 2012.”
Perhaps comet Siding Spring will be the omen for war. This is not as unthinkable as it might seem. We remember that Syria holds the balance between peace and war between the superpowers. We have to be mindful of the situation in the Middle East because as Barton Briggs shown us in Wealth, War and Wisdom, only equities will work in the long run when the world goes to war.
Good luck in the markets.
